Plot Summary
The first ever rom-com-zom (Romantic comedy with zombies). The story follows Shaun Riley (Simon Pegg), an appliance salesman who not going anywhere. His girlfriend Liz (Kate Ashfield) is sick of going to the same pub (the Winchester) everynight. So Shaun promises to do something for her on their aniversary, but breaks that promise. Liz dumps Shaun, feeling down Shaun goes to the Winchester with his flat mate Ed (Nick Frost). After a lock-in Shaun and Ed home singing, carrying on partying much to the disaproval of Shaun’s other flat mate Pete (Peter Serafinowicz) who claims to have been bitten by muggers, after some harsh words Shaun makes the decision to change his life and get back with Liz.
The Next day Shaun has first encounter with a Zombie named Mary. After this Shaun and Ed make a plan to save Shaun’s mum Barbara (Penelope Wilton) and Liz and head to the Winchester (where they think it be safe). Shaun arrives at his mums house to pick her up with his step father Phillip (Bill Nighy) who also has been bitten. They take his car and head to Liz’s flat. Shaun begs her to come, she decides to come with her friends David (Dylan Moran) and Dianne (Lucy Davies). During the car Jounery Phillip becomes a Zombie. So the gang jump out of the car and head on by foot. I don’t want to spoil the rest of the movie but there is a great zombie invasion.
The film overall was highly entertaining, full of gore and humour to keep you entertained all the way through. 10 out of 10
